Join the team - we're looking for a Campaigns Officer!

Would you like to work in campaigning? Working for SPEAK will equip you with loads of skills and experience in the world of student activism, campaigns, advocacy and network building.

SPEAK is looking for a committed campaigner to join the Network Support team. You would be involved in our Big Dress campaign on corporate accountability and our Defend Peace:Disarm Tax arms trade campaign. You would also be responsible for working in national coalitions, and supporting the Network-based campaigns team and helping develop ideas and strategy with them. There would also be opportunities for increasing our campaigns presence in parliament.

Ideally you would have experience in working with the 18-30 age group on campaigns, research and writing campaign materials, organising national campaign events, campaigns training, meeting decision-makers such as MPs, facilitation and taking part in coalition meetings. You must be committed to expressing SPEAK’s ethos and core values through the campaigns and have a vision for how they can be integrated. The role could be based in either Manchester or London and is primarily support-raising based with some contribution from SPEAK.

If you are interested, please email Tom Skinner -tom[at]speak.org.uk. The deadline for applications is 16th January 2012.
