Prayer points

· Praise God for Jesus, the greatest peacemaker, and for our hope in his power to transform even entrenched violence and greed. Ask God to help us follow Jesus’ inspiring example.

· Repent of the role the UK arms trade can play in supporting repression in places like Myanmar. Ask forgiveness that our government is not using its power for peace.

· Pray for God's healing for those suffering the effects of UK arms exports especially those mourning the loss of loved ones.

· Pray for courage, protection and hope for all who are working non-violently for peace and justice in Myanmar and all countries negatively impacted by the arms trade. Pray for the UN’s work in addressing the situation in Myanmar to make a positive impact.

· Thank God that for our freedom to campaign and pray and ask for the Holy Spirit’s help to show you where you can speak out and to give you boldness, motivation and love as you do so.

· Pray for all those who are responsible for making decisions about the arms trade (1 Tim 2v1-2) especially the Government and MPs. Pray they will see the suffering caused by the arms trade and have wisdom and conviction about the need for change, especially as laws are reviewed and updated.

· Pray that the government will turn rhetoric into action, and that our campaigning and praying, with our partners, will bring change in arms export policy. Ask God to deepen people’s understanding about these issues and to inspire powerful, prophetic action so that together we will see both personal and social transformation.
