Arms Trade Campaign
"When elephants fight it is the grass that suffers." – African Proverb
According to CAAT’s introductory briefing to the Arms Trade, by the end of the 1990s, nearly 90% of war-victims were non-combatants, and at least half of these were children.
Arms produced by British companies are exported all over the world and are today fuelling conflict, propping up corrupt and oppressive regimes, and keeping poor countries locked in poverty.
As a Network, SPEAK seeks to bring about changes that will counteract the damage done by the arms trade, and empower those who work for peace.
