Keeping in touch with your supporters

Once you have established who your financial and prayer supoprters are (equally important), you need to keep them engaged in your journey and up to date on wht you're doing.

We recommend that you write a least 4 letters a year. For example, one in September, one in December, one in March/April and one in June/July. Or if you start at another time of the year, follow this pattern but write one after your first month.

Your letters will probably vary depending on the time of year and your supporters but generally they should include a update on all the different aspects of your job, what the NST is working on and also SPEAK as a whole. You can include other information about the rest of life and how you are learning and growing as a person etc.

If at all possible, leave a space at the bottom f the letter to write a personal note to supporters. Or if you have time include a card with a more personal letter. Go to the downloadable resources section to see examples of other staff members' letters.

With your letters, include prayer information and any Pray & Post cards or event publicity that is current. Your supporters will be encouraged to find out what SPEAK is up to and what you have been working on. Remember you can invite them to SPEAK events and they can come for feww to Soundcheck or a reduced rate at Vocal Training.
