Too many of the biggest companies in the world are getting away with exploiting the world’s poorest people and the environment because the laws holding them accountable are not strong enough.

SPEAK’s Big Dress Campaign, as part of the Trade Justice Movement and the Corporate Responsibility (CORE) Coalition, is calling for the UK Government to introduce stronger laws in 3 key areas:

Reporting – This would require all UK companies to report annually on their global social, human rights and environmental impact.
Duty of Care – This would make directors of companies who do not take all the necessary steps possible to limit the negative social and environmental impact of their businesses liable for the damage they cause.
Liability – This would allow communities to bring cases against UK companies in the UK, if justice fails them in the country in which an abuse took place.
