This this is how it currently relates to our existing established activities and the work of the NST;

Volumize

We will often have stories that show groups are actively engaged in faith sharing activities. We word these stories in a sensitive enough way so that it sounds okay for someone who isn’t a Christian (and also explicit enough for Christians to understand what we are doing). We also include spirituality/faith related articles.

Soundcheck

There are seminars for groups on how to share faith, a key communication from the front and a big effort to recruit Local Faith Links (LFL's) and Faith Group Support Workers (GSWs). There should also be a chill area for people who aren’t Christians.

Vocal Training

There are seminars for groups on how to share faith, recruitment of LFLs and and explanation to all groups how faith sharing values relate to groups. Good follow up of LFLs is key after Vocal Training.

The Web Site

Articles written to be read by searchers who aren’t necessarily wearing Christian label, also sensitively worded things for SPEAK groups.

Groups Support Work

RSW manual includes reference to this, as does RSW training support and job descriptions. RSWs recruit LFls.

Resources for Faith Sharing

Every year some resources will be produced to support and equip the LFLs and GSWSs they will be circulated at Soundcheck, Vocal Training and relevant training events.

At present the following resources exist to equip LFLs mainly included in the Reclaim the gospel pack:

The Reclaim the Gospel Booklet – Looks at principles of sharing our faith as SPEAK groups.

The Spirituality of Faith Sharing – Involves key principles of sharing our faith and a more detailed philosophy section. It is intended as a draft supplement for the Reclaim the Gospel booklet.

The 3 Models

We have been suggesting 3 models for faith sharing. These cater for people on a search with varying levels of interest in the Christian faith:

• A follow up “Radical Consciousness Course” for real searchers.
  The Prayer and meditation night for people quite spiritually open. 
  The socially conscious club night for conscious and open people who may have different perspectives on the Christian faith.

The office has a responsibility for keeping stock of faith resources and organising print runs in adequate time for events like Soundcheck and Vocal Training.

Faith Events

At various different times special training events our outreach events are organised where we would prioritise inviting Local Faith Links and GSWs. So far, these have included:

SPEAK Faith Sharing Powwow June 05

This involved getting sharing faith links and a wider network together for story telling, development in creativity and also with the input of Post Christendom writer Stuart Murray Williams and Chris Erskine.

In all faith sharing work stories and example that model sharing for local adaptation are encouraged, so we have faith model templates which each of the local groups can write up and circulate. In the email loop, Faith Links quite often circulate stories of what they have done.

The aim is for the NST Faith Links Support Worker to develop specialist get together days for the Faith Links and Faith GSWs which focus on envisioning and empowering them in an underground Christian community planting experiment.

Campaigns and Outreach Teams Glastonbury 02 and 03

This involved taking a fair trade café tent to Glastonbury with a team of 15. The idea in the long run when we have more capacity is to repeat this with a more developed faith sharing training weekend before where we look at alternative models of mission.

Sunrise Celebration, Waveform and Buddhafield

These are other conscious festivals that we have taken either the Big Dress or Little Big Dress too. We have been able to provide a café and hospitality space, prayer and contemplation area, campaigns actions, film, music performances. We have become quite good friends with different venue and festival organisers who recognise we are bringing something spiritual that they can relate to.

Synergy Project

We have done stalls with creative campaign actions at these conscious club nights. People like to get stuck in to the creative action and usually end up chatting for a while. We have also gone as SPEAK Angels and taken the meditation-eco-system
