Leeds SPEAK

Leeds SPEAK meets every Monday at 6pm in the Ecumenical Chaplaincy (the portacabin type building!) on Leeds University Campus. We welcome students from any university, 6th form and non-students too! Our meetings involve prayer, educating ourselves about the issues and planning campaigns and events. So far this term we have held a discussion evening on the Arms Trade (with a panel of speakers including Hilary Benn), we have participated in the 'Together for Peace' festival in Leeds, and we have held a stall in the union for petition signing. Next term, we will continue with the Arms Trade campaign as well as campaigning for Fair Trade and Trade Justice. Please get in touch if you want to know more or just come along!

SPEAK:City

A young adult group in Leeds to connect those with a heart to campaign and pray on issues of social justice, SPEAK:City, run in partnership with, yet separately to, the already existing student Leeds SPEAK group. The first SPEAK:City event involved a leisurely walk around Leeds city centre, to get to know each other, and to challenge shops and cafes to support fair trade. If you would be interested in linking in with this inter-church group do get in touch!
