Manchester's Sponsored Sweatshop

The Manchester group organised a sponsored sweatshop to raise money for the Big Dress! Members from the group were sponsored to sew together Big Dress squares all day, to empathise with those we are campaigning for. As well as the sweatshop, the group had also created a prayer room and had invited partners and other charity groups to have stalls, some selling fairtrade gifts and food. Fairtrade tea, coffee and cakes were available all day and the group invited friends, the local media and local MPs. Keith Bradley MP for Withington painted his very own square for the Big Dress. The group raised £900 altogether!
