"An Appley Holy Communion": The Alternative Food Economy of Abundance

In the SPEAK network, we've been thinking a lot about where our food comes from, and right now, it’s that time of year when fruit trees across the UK are heavy with fruit.

Yet while most supermarkets are still importing apples from as far away as New Zealand, many trees in the UK will not be harvested at all.

Want to do something about this madness? Abundance projects harvest all that delicious fruit, and share it out with those in need. Why not get involved this harvest in your local area?

To see Abundance in action, check out this video of Stephen Watts, who started Abundance in Sheffield, talking to Hugh Fearnely-Whittingstall about the project (and watch out for the cameo appearance of a SPEAK network member!)
